Veterans Brotherhood Constitution
Name
The full name of this organization shall be Veterans Brotherhood Veterans Motorcycle Club. (Veterans brotherhood VMC)
Purpose
Veterans Brotherhood Veterans Motorcycle Club is a not-for-profit fraternal organization. It was form to provide a club for qualified military veterans who have served in the United States Armed Forces. Membership of this organization will be composed entirely of military veterans. The organization is established to provide a strong sense of pride and mutual support for Veterans who have served this country.
Organization
The (Mother/Founding Chapter) unless disbanded, will remain in the City of Birmingham, county of Jefferson, in the State of Alabama.
The National Chapter will be located and maintained in the state of the National President. The National Officers shall have the responsibility to achieve the purposes of the club nationally. The elected Officers will maintain and update all Amendments in the constitution and bylaws for the Organization. The elected Officers will mediate matters between Chapters when requested, provide guidelines for the chapters, maintain control over the organization name, logo, patches and insignias, as well as the distributor of these materials to Chapters and Members. It will also call an annual meeting of the National Officers and State Officers, the location and date of the meeting to be determined by the National Chapter. All Amendments will be voted on at this meeting.
The State Officers responsibilities will be basically the same as the National Officers, as with the National Officers, the State Officers will be elected to their repective positions by their states chapters. The location of the State Office will be located in the city of choice by the State President.
The following are the Officers Positions:
National President National Vice-President National Secretary National Treasurer National Liaison National Sgt. at Arms State President Chapter President Chapter Vice-President Chapter Secretary Chapter Treasurer Chapter Sgt. at Arms
The elected positions will be as follows:
National President, National Vice-President, National Secretary to be voted by each state. National Treasurer, National Liaison, National Sgt. at Arms will be appointed by the National President. (National President and National Treasurer must be in same state.) (The National Treasury will be maintained in this state.)
All Officers at any level will serve a term of two years.
Optional appointed positions; Road Captain—One who is responsible for safety and route of all Chapter rides. Public Relations— One who will advertise events sponsored by the organization, Maintain calendar of events and functions for member participation, responsible for public perception of the organization and actively recruits new members. Officers may be removed from office by majority vote of membership if not fulfilling their duties properly
Annual National Dues (Funding)
All Members will be assessed $25.00 per year National Dues. National Dues are Payable each January.
Chapters: A Chapter may be formed upon application and approval of the National Chapter. A minimum of five Veterans is required. Chapters will be designated alphabetically by the State President. Each Chapter may adopt their own set of Chapter Standing Rules to address local laws and situations. Each Chapter will establish local monthly to conduct club activities. A Chapter may be dissolved by the National Organization if there are less than five (5) members, or there’s been a proven violation of articles objectives and bylaws of the organization.
